Directions

Stovetop Cooking Instruction:

Put one package of pasta into 5 quarts (4.7L) of boiling water and add a tbsp of salt. Stir occasionally and cook for 8-9 minutes until desired tenderness is reached.  Rinse with cold water. Drain well.

 

Easy and Energy-Saving Cooking: Cook 1 to 2 minutes in boiling water and stir gently. Switch off stove. Cover pot for about 6 minutes. Ready to serve. The good texture of Tinkyada can withstand quite a bit of over-cooking.

Pumpkin Pasta Sauce

Who wants to wait for dessert to enjoy the delicious flavor of pumpkin? Pies are surely delicious, but if you work the gourd into your main course, you can eat it as soon as you sit at the dinner table! If you’re impatient for pumpkin, you’ll love this savory pumpkin pasta sauce. Whip up your favorite pasta (any kind will do!) and ladle this sauce over for a soul-warming dish. Add protein on the side to make a complete meal.

Ingredients

1 can (15 oz.) organic pumpkin
1 cup canned chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup coconut cream
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
16 oz. penne pasta (any pasta will work)

Directions

  1. In medium saucepan, simmer pumpkin and tomatoes. Stir in coconut cream and spices. Cover and simmer about 15 minutes. 
  2. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions.
  3. To serve, pour 1/2 cup sauce over 1 cup pasta and garnish with fresh basil.
