Messy meals are the norm for kids. In fact, it’s often a sign they actually ate their food (hooray!). But if an adult ends up with dinner on their hands, in their hair and all over their clean white shirt, you might get a few raised eyebrows. Of course, there’s one meal where mess doesn’t matter: homemade sloppy joes. You probably have most of the flavorful ingredients in your pantry already. So while it may be hard to eat and stay clean, this is one super-easy recipe everyone should have up their sleeve…and, probably, on it.
Ingredients
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
8 oz. tomato sauce
2 Tbsp. sugar-free ketchup
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. raw honey
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. garlic salt
4 burger buns
Directions
1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook beef and onions until beef is brown and cooked through.
2. Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, honey, pepper and garlic salt. Cook until mixture begins to bubble.
3. Reduce heat to medium and cook another 5 minutes.
4. Serve warm on fresh burger buns.
