Who Says Exercise Can’t Be Fun?

Let’s face it. When you don’t enjoy an activity, you take every other path — even if it’s inconvenient and out of the way — to avoid doing it. (It’s human nature, so don’t feel too bad.) But when it comes to working out and eating healthy, there are no excuses.  If exercising isn’t fun for you…make  it fun!

Spring into your healthier life with these fun fitness ideas:

– Pair up with like-minded people:  Enlist someone you love to spend time with to train once or twice a week. This person should be non-judgmental and fully supportive of your fitness goals, even if their goals don’t align perfectly with yours.

– Dress to impress (yourself): It’s true that when you feel more put together, you have more confidence to perform at your best. Go for a sharp, sporty look with a new gym outfit or some colorful kicks. And show off that beautiful face by pulling your hair back with no-slip elastic hair bands and a spritz of hairspray to prevent any flyaways.

– Workout alfresco: Getting outside in the brisk air and feeling the wind on your face brings out your inner child. This is a sure-fire way to make fitness feel like play time. Head to a park, soccer field or outdoor track and let your mood and environment guide you through a workout (just don’t forget the sunscreen!).

– Motivate with music: Listening to music has been known to help people endure longer workouts that are also more enjoyable. So, turn on your favorite playlist and tune out the world around you (including those numbers on the treadmill which haven’t seemed to budge from when you looked down 10 seconds ago).

Life is too short to not have fun, so put your best foot first every day — never give up and never give in!
