Sesame & Honey Roasted Chickpeas

Bag the chips, ditch the pretzels and pass the chickpeas, please! Reminiscent of Greek sesame and honey bars, these crunchy, sweet and nutty nuggets are craveable and healthy. Pop them in the oven for a no-fuss trip to snacking bliss. You can name all of the ingredients, but you won’t want to – you’d rather be crunching away happily.

Sesame & Honey Roasted Chickpeas

Ingredients

Optional: 1/3 tsp. ground cardamom

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Rinse chickpeas and dry well. Remove loose skins.
  3. Spread chickpeas on baking sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes to completely dry out.
  4. In bowl, whisk together butter, honey, sesame oil, cinnamon, sugar, cardamom and salt.
  5. Add chickpeas to honey mixture and toss to coat.
  6. Spread coated chickpeas back onto baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, until caramelized.
  7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds immediately after removing from oven. Let cool 10 minutes and serve.
