Banana-Blueberry Vegan Pea Protein Smoothie

Need to find another whey to get protein in your diet? Whether you follow a vegan diet or otherwise avoid dairy, whey protein just won’t do for you. But that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the taste and convenience of protein shakes and smoothies. Try this protein shake recipe with pea protein the next time you’re in the mood for a body-fueling beverage. Pea protein has a high protein content and it’s easy to digest, so it’s a great alternative to traditional whey protein.

Serves 1 (16 oz.)

Ingredients

12 oz. water (use less water for thicker smoothie)
1 scoop Vitacost ROOT2 Pea Protein Powder
1 Tbsp. sunflower seed butter
1 Tbsp. maple syrup
1/2 banana
1/2 cup frozen blueberries

Directions

  1. In a blender, add water and follow with remaining ingredients.
  2. Blend 1-2 minutes until smooth.
