High-Protein Pomegranate-Banana Smoothie

Give that shaker cup a break and ditch the protein-powder-and-water-combo. It’s time to make something a little more rewarding. This post-workout smoothie tastes like your basic fruity shake but it’s blended with protein powder, raw almonds and a little bit of honey for added sweetness. It takes minutes to make and seconds to fall in love with. Garnish with pomegranate seeds for a fancy finish!

Ingredients

2 cups pomegranate juice
2 bananas
1-1/2 cups milk
1 cup ice cubes
1/4  cup Vitacost Organic Raw Almonds
1  scoop whey protein powder (optional)
2  teaspoons Simple Truth Honey

Directions

In blender, combine pomegranate juice, milk, ice, bananas, almonds, protein powder and honey. Blend on high for at least 30 seconds. Pour into glasses and garnish with pomegranate seeds if desired.
