Organic “Bedtime Biscuits” for Dogs
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups oat flour*
- 1/2 cup applesauce unsweetened**
- 4 Tbsp. pumpkin seeds raw and unsalted
- 2 chamomile tea bags
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or non-stick baking mat.

In food chopper, pulse pumpkin seeds until finely ground.

In medium bowl, combine ground seeds, oat flour, applesauce and contents of tea bags; mix well. Dough may be a little sticky at first but will stiffen.

Roll into balls; flatten. Arrange on lined cookie sheet. Press with fork to further flatten.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes, until firm to touch and bottoms are browned. For softer treats, remove earlier.

Transfer to wire rack; let cool completely.

Feeding Instructions
Depending on your dog’s weight and activity level, give 1 to 4 treats 30-minutes before bedtime. Begin with a smaller serving to gauge your dog’s sensitivity to the ingredients, then gradually increase to the suggested daily amount if needed.
Shelf-life & Storage
Crunchy: Keep stored in airtight container in cool, dry place. These treats will last 4 to 6 weeks. Refrigerate for longer shelf-life.
Soft: Store in airtight container in refrigerator. These can also be frozen for up to 3 months. Frozen biscuits can be given to dogs with healthy teeth.
Notes:
*To make your own oat flour: Pulse together quick or rolled oats.
**To substitute with a fresh apple: Core apple. In food processor, liquify. The measurement is the same.
