The cooler months always bring cozy shades of brown, red and orange. We probably gravitate toward these warmer colors to trick ourselves into thinking it’s not 30 degrees outside. So, why not get your makeup look in line with the rich tones of a smoky eye and bright berry lips? Watch the video for my demo on how to keep your look warm when the weather gets cold.
Did you catch the brand that reminds me of Bare Minerals?
It’s Larenim (apparently pronounced: “Lairen-em”). The matte black packaging does compete with the ever-popular Bare Minerals, but this brand definitely stands apart. Unlike other mineral-based cosmetics, Larenim DOES NOT contain bismuth oxychloride, which is a common irritant for sensitive skin types. It’s also not tested on animals, contains no parabens, talc, oils or fillers and is made in the U.S.A.
For this fall look, I set my liquid foundation and concealer with Larenim Pressed Foundation. Powder just helps it all stay put. I used their Kabuki brush to dust the powder foundation over top (did I mention how soft this brush is?). Because I’m really particular, I layered my mascara. Larenim Mineralash in Jet Black went down first as a conditioner. Using natural products, there’s some give and take. This mascara doesn’t lengthen as well, but it does seem to hydrate my lashes. Points for that!
I also layered my shadows to accentuate the warm smoky eyes. The cream shadow goes down to create a base, then Larenim Eye Colour in Beach Babe is brushed on top. It has a nice shimmery brown tone — like a bronze. Speaking of bronze, the Larenim Goddess Glo Bronzer adds the perfect amount of shimmer . It comes in light, medium and dark. The best part is, it can go on all over the face and neck to create the warm undertone we want here.
I love discovering new healthy beauty brands like Larenim, especially ones that are cruelty-free and completely natural. It just feels better all around.
