Blender bottles are a convenient way to mix up a protein shake or smoothie without having to deal with the hassle of operating a blender. They’re great for on-the-go nutrition and can be tucked in your gym bag or even kept in your car for a quick, healthy beverage while you’re out and about. But, these handy hand-helds have purpose beyond helping you make fitness-related drinks. Here are five fun and creative ways to put your bottle to good use.

How to Use a Blender Bottle

1. Balsamic vinaigrette dressing

Homemade dressings are easy to make, customizable and inexpensive. Balsamic vinaigrette is a go-to for sprucing up salads – and it’s also great on sandwiches, as a marinade, as a topping for roasted veggies and even as an ingredient in some recipes. Shake up a batch in your blender bottle and keep it in your fridge for frequent use!

Quick Balsamic Vinaigrette

Ingredients

½ cup extra virgin olive oil
½ cup balsamic vinegar
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
¼ tsp. sea salt
1/8 tsp. ground pepper

Directions

Add all ingredients to blender bottle; shake well.

2. Stir-fry sauce

Skip takeout and make your own stir fry at home! If you make your own sauce, there’s no need to question ingredients in a store-bought bottle – and, of course, you can customize flavors. To make a simple stir fry, just toss your choice of protein and fresh veggies into a wok or large skillet. Add your sauce, and cook until done. Serve over rice or your favorite grain.

Simple Stir-Fry Sauce

Ingredients

1/2 cup chicken stock or vegetable broth
1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce or Tamari
1 Tbsp. arrow root powder or corn starch
1 Tbsp. agave or honey
1 tsp. rice vinegar
1 tsp. sesame seed oil
2 garlic cloves, finely minced
2-inch piece ginger, peeled and grated or finely minced

Using a blender bottle to prep pancake or crepe mix makes life so much easier – it’s less messy and easier to pour. You can use your usual pancake/crepe recipe, or try a protein pancake mix and top your stack with natural nut butter. Yum! Just add the ingredients to your bottle, shake and pour onto your griddle or pan.

4. Perfect scrambled eggs

A blender bottle is a great tool for making scrambled eggs. Shaking eggs in the bottle creates the perfect texture every time. Simply add eggs or egg whites, a pinch of salt and a splash of almond milk to the bottle and shake for evenly beaten eggs.  Quick tip: If you’re looking to save time in the morning, prep the mixture the night before, then just grab your bottle form the fridge, shake and scramble!

5. Ice coffee/iced matcha latte

No need to stop  by the coffee shop for an expensive iced coffee. Just add ice to a blender bottle (with the metal spring inside) with these ingredients, shake and sip.

16 oz. strong cooled coffee or espresso or matcha tea
Coconut milk/oat milk/almond milk/regular milk (your choice/desired amount)
1 tsp. raw sugar
Sprinkle cinnamon
