Sometimes, you come across a piece of art and feel so moved you want to create your own wall hanging. Don’t worry; you’re not a copycat. It’s called inspiration. Think of that piece of art as a piece of fudge in a bakery. You wouldn’t think twice about trying to mimic the flavors on your own, now would you? No. But in case you need a little guidance, here’s the exact recipe for rich, creamy chocolate-pecan fudge. The whole-food ingredients and creamy, cookie-dough consistency will certainly “inspire” you.
Ingredients
1 cup cacao powder
3 oz. food-grade cocoa butter
1/4 cup melted coconut oil
1/3 cup coconut nectar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)
Directions
- Line an 8” x 8” baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a food processor, add all ingredients – except pecans – in the order above. Process until mixture forms a smooth dough consistency (much like cookie dough).
- Stir in pecans and coconut, if desired.
- Press mixture into prepared baking dish, spreading out as evenly as possible. Top with more pecans, coconut, cacao nibs and sea salt.
- Freeze until solid.
