Sometimes, you come across a piece of art and feel so moved you want to create your own wall hanging. Don’t worry; you’re not a copycat. It’s called inspiration. Think of that piece of art as a piece of fudge in a bakery. You wouldn’t think twice about trying to mimic the flavors on your own, now would you? No. But in case you need a little guidance, here’s the exact recipe for rich, creamy chocolate-pecan fudge. The whole-food ingredients and creamy, cookie-dough consistency will certainly “inspire” you.

2 Squares of Chocolate-Pecan Fudge with Coconut Shreds on White Table #recipe | Vitacost.com/blog

Ingredients

1 cup cacao powder
3 oz. food-grade cocoa butter
1/4 cup melted coconut oil
1/3 cup coconut nectar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)

Directions

  1. Line an 8” x 8” baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a food processor, add all ingredients – except pecans – in the order above. Process until mixture forms a smooth dough consistency (much like cookie dough).
  3. Stir in pecans and coconut, if desired.
  4. Press mixture into prepared baking dish, spreading out as evenly as possible. Top with more pecans, coconut, cacao nibs and sea salt.
  5. Freeze until solid.
