DIY Oil Cleansing How-To

So you’re getting ready for bed and start to wash off the day’s makeup. The first thing you do is splash some lukewarm water on your face to get the cleaning process started, right? That would be wrong. Actually, the best way to completely remove all that dirt and grime is to use oils. You may be a bit skeptical at this point, wondering if the oil cleansing method may contribute to breakouts or blackheads. That’s completely understandable, which is why I break it all down for you – including which oil is right for your skin type, how much oil is enough and step-by-step instructions that lead to a smooth, squeaky-clean complexion.

Oily skin?

Your best cleansing oils:
– Sweet almond oil
– Grapeseed oil
– Castor oil

Extra-dry or mature skin?

Your best cleansing oils:
– Apricot kernel oil
Olive oil
Avocado oil

Sensitive or acne-prone skin?

Your best cleansing oils:
– Jojoba oil
– Castor oil

Normal skin (lucky you!)?

Your best cleansing oils:
You can use pretty much any of the above mentioned oils, but you’ll want to play around with the ratios to see how your skin responds.
