Organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, nut-free: we’re so careful with the food we put into our bodies. We check labels and stick to tested and certified products. But are we as careful with what we put on our bodies? Personal care products, from cosmetics to toothpaste to shampoo, should be subject to the same standards as food. After all, if you wouldn’t eat it, you shouldn’t put it on your skin.

When it comes to shampoo, natural and organic options exist, but to know exactly what ingredients you’re being exposed to, you’ve got to make it yourself. And, why not? Making dry shampoo is incredibly easy, and in many cases, it’s much less expensive than other all-natural options.

Dry shampoo works to soak up oil and clean your hair, and thanks to sweet smelling essential oils, leaves hair smelling fresh without the use of water. It’s great to use if you have gone a few days without washing your hair or on those busy mornings when you just don’t have time to wash it. Dry shampoo can save you a lot of time, energy and water.
