How do you take your coffee? You could have it with cream and sugar. You could have it black and bold. Or, you could have it with berries and whipped cream. Before you think, “that’s not my cup,” consider all the times you’ve wanted the best of both worlds but could only have one. This frappe recipe is disguised as a chocolate protein smoothie. Under its covers, though, are a couple strong espresso shots that blend right into your power shake. If you haven’t taken your coffee like this, get out the blender. The best of breakfast has finally become one.
Frappe
2 Tbsp. Designer Whey Natural 100% Whey-Based Protein in Chocolate
1 Tbsp. cocoa powder
1 Tbsp. coconut sugar
2 shots espresso
1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/4 – 1/8 tsp. mint extract
1 cup ice
Drizzle
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
2 Tbsp. water
Toppings
Whipped cream
Matcha powder
Directions
- In a blender, add all frappe ingredients and process until completely smooth.
- Wash out blender and add drizzle ingredients. Blend on low until smooth.
- Pour frappe into a glass, top with whipped cream, berry drizzle and a sprinkle of matcha powder to finish it off.
